The sun of the earth felt like moonlight in comparison to the star that resided over Aedin. Mithrandir felt as though he were moving through a candle-lit world though it was apex of the morning as he walked through the cool grass.
A village of people, no, of humans. It fascinated him that so many lightyears away such a world and such a species existed. It was clear to him immediately that there had to be a kinship of some kind to the Aesir; the resemblance was to uncanny to leave nature with no alibi. Baldur walked near his cousin as they kept themselves hooded and scarce walking through the busy streets. The robes they wore were thick enough to hide their unusually well-made bodies that would no doubt draw attention even in such a place. Yet without the dazzling radiance that was the usual distinguishing sign of an Aesirian, they felt confident they could not be picked out from the crowd as being anything other but a townsperson. It was winter, and yet the sky was clear, the sun blazing. Ice was around, but it was mixed with the still lifely green grass that covered most of the ground in the shire they trodded.
Aldoron, the King of the North, had sent these two princes down to this place to teach them a lesson. A lesson in valuing and treasuring life and the leadership that their race befitted them. It was essential that as Aesirian princes they learn how to govern; and to govern lesser life forms. It was even thought that one day a prophesied messiah would come along and re-create worlds in the realms. Aldoron privately believed that the young lad, Mithrandir, was to be this king. Humble by nature, Aldoron felt it was therefore his sworn duty to prepare him for such tasks.
Mithrandir proceeded forth past the mainstay of the village and into the wooded area where he felt he could now more liberally discuss things he took note of about these "humans".
"Mankind is... fascinating. Their short life-terms seem to create an interesting tension between production and production capability. They are continually striving to have more, to presumably enjoy more; but the pursuit of having more directly interferes with enjoying what one already possesses. It's like being in a race to enjoy the present moment."
