There was was an eerie silence.

The white smoke that most often accompanied tall mountain tops was seen to be everywhere beneath the cliff, and the 1,000 meter mountain top that had once been a sacred village was vacant. Mithrandir stood at the tip of the cliff, and in front of him was a place much in likeness to Konoha save for the altitude and trees. A small village bordered by large mountainous walls all around. All leading to a single road, and that road to a single point; beyond which was a drop of incalculable depth. It was so like humans to take allegory and attempt to make it a part of real system. The highest order of Uchiha had once dwelt in this high and lofty place. Much like the stories and fables of where the gods dwelt on the highest mountains and in the highest heavens; so did these mortals once dwell in this pathetic excuse for an Olympus, now nothing more than the burnt remains of a barely recognizable civilization. It was thought that many were unsure if the place even existed given the immense altitude. The continuous cloud cover of this mountain peak was a poetic cover to its existence. Humans couldn’t fly, and centuries ago, when this place was filled with life, they surely believed that to reach such heights could not be accomplished. How consistent human history was with those who knew the truth dominating those who didn’t by fallacies and lies about their own potential. It was such a … mortal thing to believe that others knew more about oneself than oneself did.
It was that fatal flaw of thought that brought Mithrandir to this place. That insidious notion that those around oneself could know more about one’s nature than one knew about themselves; this had driven him to this sacred and demolished place. Mithrandir walked slowly upon the strip leading to the city, which was about ten meters wide and surrounded by nothing but white smoke on both sides which hid the fatal drop that awaited one who fell off of it. He continued walking about the narrow strip until he came upon the remnants of a broken wall that once protected the city from invaders. It was, as most human defenses are, pathetic, but yet for its time period quite magnificent. Nothing that would keep out a being of such power as himself, but surely enough to halt even the most valiant forces of mankind at this time. The reason for the wall was not only to protect those who were behind it; but the secrets that they hid. Mithrandir walked through a small hole in the wall and found himself then staring at the expanse of the city itself. Everything inside was scorched to a measure that seemed quite incredible from his point of view. A blaze of such great proportions as to literally melt the flesh off of the bone of humans had ravaged through this place mercilessly. He wondered what for…

Walking further in, he noticed that aside from ash there was also soot upon the ground. Fresh enough soot as to imply that a volcano had surely played its part in the destruction of the sacred town. He could see with his Galagan, those piercing white eyes, that behind the main buildings there was a secret chamber cleverly hidden beneath mounds of gravel. It would appear that in the last days of this fateful city it had still not been discovered. He floated quickly through the various burnt structures and what remained of the abandoned and scorched buildings until he reached a small courtyard behind what the place he determined was the main government building. It was the first time he saw distinguishable bodies made of pure soot and ash laying all about like statues. Shocking to imagine what natural force on Earth could have done such a thing.  In the midst of the courtyard was a very small garden which had clearly withered with the same flame that had taken the lives of the various citizens. He saw that there remained a chakra filled seal in the midst of this buried garden, and as a the air grew moist with rain from above, he noticed a ring of light form a circle of two meters in circumference all around him. Radiant gold light poured out from the ground and a sound could be heard from beneath as the ground beneath him shook. There were multiple flashes of light and suddenly Mithrandir could see nothing for a few seconds. Bewildered at such a thing, he stumbled back wondering what could have grabbed hold of him. When his vision returned to him, it could clearly be seen that his Galagan was picking up the presence of multiple life forms that were not there before. Looking around, he now found himself in a courtyard filled with lush life and abundance. There was suddenly seen birds flying above, and the palace behind him was… restored to former glory. Confused as to how his eyes could possibly be beguiled but such a primitive jutsu, he turned around to be confronted by six black robed figures whose faces were covered by ominous hoods. Each stood perfectly in line with the other and stared at him with a stare of pur oblivion. Like lights that were flickered on by a switch, suddenly there were six pair of sharingan eyes staring straight out at him, their faces still hidden by the lingering darkness that their hoods afforded them. The group split into two lines of three, facing one another and still in front of Mithrandir, revealing a seventh member in their midst. He walked towards Mithrandir with a rather unsettling confidence that made the proud angel nearly laugh for mockery. How dare this human walk up to him as though he were some kind of comrade. The hood was removed from the figure by his own hands rather elegantly to reveal a strikingly familiar face.

Azulon Uchiha.

Mithrandir did not know the man, nor was he in any way intimidated by the strange magic that had somehow transported him to a slightly parallel dimension outside of the normal barriers of time. Instead of shattering to pieces this magic trick, he decided to play along seeing as his strongest intuitions told him these men knew what he had come here looking for.
Azulon looked at him with a look of awe and thankfulness; the latter emotion catching Mithrandir off guard. His Galagan could not, for some odd reason, quite read these men properly. The did not possess chakra systems nor were their energies something he had seen on Earth before. The man in front of him continued to stare at him with a gleam of wonder and curiosity in his eyes. Mithrandir opened his mouth to speak when he was interrupted.

“Follow me,” Azulon said softly and without blinking.

Seeing that the man didn’t move, Mithrandir squinted as he saw reality around him warped. The oasis around him passed away and in its place there was a dark night that both he and Azulon stood within, them both now transported to the center of the city in front of the government building. He could see that Azulon was using his sharingan to show Mithrandir a memory, and one of the most gruesome proportions. There was screaming all around them as people fled what appeared to be a great mass of close-combat between the shinobi of the land and…. An army of Ootsutsuki. A large ship had landed on the mountain peak and out of it poured out Ootsutsuki shinobi. Several susanoos were summoned as what appeared to be a group of dark-robed figures emerged to meet the oncoming threat. Six susanoos emerged and were summoned to oppose the initial onslaught of the Ootsutsuki. Mithrandir found it curious that amongst all those present he could find no discernable leader; no one he recognized. For the time being it was clear that the Uchiha were winning, and Mithrandir found himself led by Azulon into the palace/temple building. Inside was a dark throne room which clearly served as a place for the holy things of the Uchiha to take place. Standing near a candle-lit alter was Azulon Uchiha himself. Mithrandir found this quite strange given the fact that by the time this scene could have possibly happened Azulon would have had to have been dead; but he was in a position to ask questions. He saw an older Azulon standing within this sacred chamber of the palace brooding over a book with various symbols inside of it. The book was filled with unusual chakra, and was clearly not written to humans nor meant to be read by human eyes. A thought crossed Mithrandir’s eyes that Azulon had stolen the book; and that was why the Ootsutsuki had come…

Outside, the susanoos drove back the armies of the Ootsutsuki almost completely until a man emerged clothed in all white and wielding an the legendary Tenseigan. All of a sudden the mountain shook with great violence as it was clear this man was a titan of power amongst his people, and he wrestled with the six disciples of Azulon. Trying to keep this man, and his army, away from the temple. There was a sudden silence outside, and an ominous look came upon Azulon as he grazed a particular page of the sacred text. Looking up from it, his sharingan took on a strange appearance; the mangekyou. He closed the book, and the spirit of Azulon (who was maintaining the current vision) as well as Mithrandir, stood aside as the leader of the Ootsutsuki regime entered alone into the temple. Walking up the steps slowly, he came to be exactly fifty meters away from the altar where Azulon stood, eyeing him with an merciless look.

“Human, you know not with what you’re dealing. If you release it… it will mean the end of your kind and all life on this planet; give me the book.” The Ootsutsuki general said sternly.

“Never.” Azulon hissed. “It’s our only defense against your kind and whoever else is out there. I will not let you take over this world!”

A bone spike was throne with eye-blinding speed towards Azulon, fazing through him as he instantly activated Kamui. The mangekyou sharingan wielded by the Uchiha clan leader glowed and a strange red aura betook him. Suddenly, there was a great flame that burst out from all around him in all directions so that all around Mithrandir and the spirit of Azulon was smeared in the black flame. Uchiha and Ootsutsuki alike were toasted instantly, leaving not even enough time for them to cry out in the pain of burning. The Azulon in this memory disappeared to the courtyard suddenly, placing a seal in the midst of the garden and hiding the book therein before disappearing for fear of the soon oncoming army of Ootsutsuki. He had killed everyone there; both his kin and the army that opposed them.
The dream ended and Mithrandir was back inside of the burned courtyard with none but himself and the seven hooded figures.

It was clear now that the other six men removed their hoods, that they were the six disciples of Azulon who had protected the coveted city. Azulon stood forward now to face and speak with Mithrandir more directly now.

“In the days of the Ootsutsuki’s first arrival, humans were taken for slaves and put to work to tend the Juubi tree that they planted. I myself and the product of the leader of the humans and Kaguya Ootsutsuki, and thus was raised with my brother Avalon as a prince in their kingdom. However, all that I was told as a child was a lie. They told us that they planned to make peace with the humans and that they would live along side them in harmony. That was never their plan; neither then, nor now. The Ootsutsuki were a race that almost destroyed themselves due to their lust for power. They came to Earth to repopulate themselves; and to destroy any that opposed them. However, they came here for another reason… Abraxus Ootsutsuki, the last great sovereign of their people,  chose Earth to inhabit his people for a special reason. The Earth is one piece of an enormous puzzle that he spent his life trying to solve. That puzzle - is you, Quetsiqquaddol.”

Mithrandir felt a strange sensation at the last word. He looked at the man with confusion and a slight bit of anger because he knew Azulon was alluding to something that he knew Mithrandir could not follow him on.

“Your name… The name you were given from the moment of your creation, before the pit, before your banishment and before the Earth itself. Your name is Quetsiqquaddol. You are the first born of the Tree of Life, the High Priest of the Aesir and rightful heir to the throne of all power and glory. You are not a “beast”, nor are you a weapon to be controlled and used for conquest as Abraxus so foolishly believed. No, no… you’re much more than that. You were created to be the ultimate tool for creation and the sustaining of life. You are one of a pantheon of beings created for the sole purpose of carrying out the will of Ea, the Father of All.  When you defied the will of the heavens, you were banished into the darkest depths of the lowest universe… Until I freed you.
When I was young and tender, I snuck into my mother’s private chambers. There I discovered two Emerald tablets upon which was written a prophecy in a language that none among us could decipher. Eventually, my unique chakra enabled my eyes to understand the words of the tablet and I perceived its meaning. It was a story about two peoples, the Aesir and the Vanir. I learned their history and their truths from the tablet, and thus began to unravel the lies my mother had told me all my life. It was then that I planned my betrayal…”

Mithrandir gazed intently as the mangekyou sharingan once more transported the two men to a memory of Azulon’s. They stood within a great forest with various white-robed figures standing spread apart amid the branches as if in hiding. Two young boys, no more than thirteen, were engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat. There was a long haired boy clothed in black and red, and the other clothed in green and gold. It was clear he was looking at Avalon and Azulon when they were younger. Mithrandir watched as Avalon skillfully overcame his brother with what seemed to be superior strength; strength that even the sharingan could not calculate or anticipate. It was obvious that a deep personal bond existed between the two, and yet there were obviously secrets amid the relationship. The white robed guardians emerged when the sparring was complete, and escorted the boys back to their clubhouse where they would prepare to meet with their mother later that day (or so he presumed as he absorbed the inferences by the words spoken by the guardians).

“What is the meaning of this?”
Mithrandir said to Azulon as both walked about in the memory completely undetected by any within.

“This is the first day I confirmed that Avalon was not of Ootsutsuki blood.”

“Of course he’s not; he’s my brother.” Mithrandir remarked sharply.

“No… he is not. You are filled with false memories given to you by your captors during your imprisonment to force upon your mind a self-perpetuated deception. Almost all of your memories are lies. Come along and I shall open your eyes…”

Mithrandir gritted his strong white teeth, clenching his jaw as he followed Azulon into the emerging white light of another memory within the forest.
It was night now, and the moon was full in the midst of this large wood. There was a small stream and indeed a dam on the side of the forest where Azulon could be seen standing in front of. On the other side of the dam was the main forest that he and his brother had been fighting in earlier; and it was clear he had come here to gain some distance. He knelt by the stream and pulled out a kunai from his back pocket that had a strange white liquid upon it, as if it had been dipped in white paint. Mithrandir recalled that he had sliced the stomach of Avalon in the heat of battle earlier; he must have saved and hidden the kunai. It was clear as Mithrandir and the spirit of Azulon watched the young boy that he had purposefully lost the fight. His goal had not been to win, but to extract the DNA of his younger sibling in order to confirm or prove some conspiracy theory; his eyes said it all. Clearly a different color blood than his own, Azulon knew that something about the physical constitution of Avalon was fundmaentally different. Ever since he had awakened the mangekyou, and inherited a strange aura along with it, he had been able to read more and more of the sacred Emerald Tablets hidden within his mother’s private quarters. He had been sneaking there whenever he could to read and write down what he could in a large book; that way he could review things later. He found himself having a strange connection with the tablets that he couldn’t seem to break. The very first time he laid eyes on them, a certain power gripped him. As if it were something out of this world calling out to him. He began to have visions from that day on, about the tablet and about… other things. Perhaps things the strange artifact wanted him to see. Other worlds, strange beings, angels, demons etc. He’d often found himself awakened to find he had been in a psychic trance in which he was writing down cryptic symbols and notes within his notebook that he could not understand. This journal became his most prized possession and, as Mithrandir realized by observation, the same book that he had held when the sacred Uchiha city had been ransacked by Ootsutsuki forces. The book was one of the visions and oracles of Azulon Uchiha; and he had seen something he was never meant to....

Curious to see what the boy would do with the Kunai, the spirit of Azulon and Mithrandir moved closer to the real Azulon in order to observe what the meaning of the strange experiment was exactly. The dagger was clearly laced with a special enzyme that enabled it to keep the blood stuck to it. Mithrandir and Azulon’s spirit then followed the young Azulon as he snuck privately into a nearby Ootsutsuki temple. There, he wove strange hand seals in order to open a hidden chamber inside of the temple, revealing a dark and stony room with a small waterfall coming down on the left. The room was roughly fifty meters in height and sixty in circumference, the young prince having plenty of room to conduct his business. It was obvious this was a kind of private meeting room for the priests or whoever used this building. Azulon’s presence was clearly via forgery of the seals he saw the priests use when entering this vault. He had learned to look for clues that would lead him to the secrets he knew his mother had been keeping from him his whole life. With the sharingan, there could be no true secrets nor lies. In the center of the room was a large octagonal table with ancient symbols laden about it and coming from each side of the table. In the center of that table were three place-holders which looked to be holding places for items that were to be placed inside of the table in order to activate it. In the center of these three place holders for whatever relics belonged there, was a strange symbol with a hollow shape that enabled for liquid and other things to seep into its inner being; almost like letters that can be filled with liquid in order to gain shape. Mithrandir looked intently as he saw Azulon pull from his knapsack three crystals that shimmered in the moonlight that poured down upon the waterfall inside of the chamber. There were candles lit all across the wall, but no light could compare to the shimmer that was given off of these crystals when Azulon placed them within the table. The crystals began to glow and hum; it was obvious that something was about to happen. He then took the dagger with the glued blood of Avalon upon it, and began to drip it into the hollow Aeserian symbol within the center of the table. The moment the blood hit the symbol it began to shimmer a golden color, and a look of astonishment and acceptance came over Azulon.

“So it is true,” he whispered bitterly.

Before Mithrandir could gather exactly what the boy was doing and why, there was suddenly a figure that appeared in front of the table.

Kaguya Ootsutsuki had such a presence as to make one feel as though she had been staring and looking at them all along. Aware of her capacity of interdimensional travel due to her unusual visual prowess, Mithrandir looked upon the woman coldly as the memory played on.

Azulon looked notably disturbed as the table began to shake. He looked at his mother with a look of apprehension and discomfort as he pulled out the last artifact from his sack that belonged to the table. Once fitted surely the intended result would occur, and yet now the question was had the Empress come to allow this transaction; or end it entirely.

Azulon reached forward to place the stone inside of the table, only to have the artifact siphoned through the air and over into the open palm of Kaguya, who stood on the opposite end of the table emotionless and calm.
Azulon gritted his teeth before regaining himself in what was obviously a postured maneuver. He knew that violence against his mother was a non-option; her power was unfathomable. And yet he had been so desperate to bring forth into the light what she had for so long kept in the dark that he found himself having to keep back a ravenous desire to rip her arm off and place the stone inside of the table himself.

He knelt to the empress as the humming in the table ceased.

“You’ve been busy my son…” she said softly, rubbing the artifact between her claws.

“Its clear nothing can be sacred before your dark and ominous eyes. Shall I reach into the heavens and pull down all the secrets laid out in the universe for you my love? Or shall your insatiable ambition accomplish the work of a thousand men for you as it has tonight?”

Tears streamed down Azulon’s eyes as he arose to face his mother face on.

“It is only your lies that my heart reaches for my mother; and they be not found in the heavens above, but in hell beneath.”

“You know nothing child.” Kaguya said calmly.

Azulon’s eyes began to glow and an aura of dark purple surrounded him.

“I know what you’re hiding… All this time, away from everyone and from us all. I know about the Eversoris…”

Kaguya’s byakugan activated and an intense aura of chakra leaked off of her to surpass even that of her son’s.

Kaguya knew that her son had been looking for the stones, that he had found the Emerald Tablets in her private library, and that he had been divining various messages that he was transmitting from an extra-dimensional entity. She had allowed him to go on doing this for over a year now, and had been leaving breadcrumbs for him to find all along.

Seeing that Azulon would tolerate no more lies, and that he had indeed been able to read the tablet almost completely (much to her surprise) there was no more need for charades or shadows. She decided to tell him the truth.

“The bedtime stories I told you and your brother as children… They are not stories, they are real. They tell of things that have happened, things that are happening, and things that will happen and have yet to occur. Avalon is not your brother.”
she paused, seeing as the boy was neither fazed nor shocked by the words.

She chuckled slightly, and then caught herself.

“I’ll start at the beginning…

The universe is a mind. And like all minds, it manifests itself through physical actions and happenings. Thus my son, as you have been taught, the universe is many, many things. It is hateful, loving, selfish, fearful, courageous, cowardly, honest, deceitful, and all things in between. When this universe came into being, it manifested itself through the first created beings; a pantheon of gods. These gods were split into two tribes, the Aesir and the Vanir. The Aesir were given charge over life and creation. The embodiment of life, vitality and fertility, they were the animating personalities of the forces of nature.
The Vanir were given charge over the ordering of space and time in the universe; they were thought of as being the powers that hold the cosmos together.
Both tribes were needed in order to maintain life in the universe and to keep the World Tree, which houses all things in the universe, properly in tact.

In the beginning the Aesir and the Vanir worked together hand in hand to rule all life in the nine realms. The universe is comprised of nine dimensions; the tenth being eternity. The Aesir were given a dwelling place in the ninth dimension, the most beautiful and heavenly dimension; they called it the Arda. The vanir dwelt in a world/dimension below it known as Vanna. The Aesir and the Vanir worked hand in hand for several millennium establishing order to all life in the nine realms. The Aesir were a war-like tribe who possessed great physical might and power, whereas the Vanir possessed great spiritual power and minds capable of perceiving words of wisdom. During the first age, these two tribes worked hand and hand to keep the universe in a state of perfect equilibrium and peace."

“What is the Eversoris?” Azulon asked angrily, interrupting story time. He did not care about strange alien names or myths about tribes of deities; he wanted answers concerning the things that haunted him now.
What he had put together in his mind so far was that the “Eversoris” was some kind of weapon that the Ootsutsuki planned to use in order to recreate the Earth as a planet habitable for their people; in the meantime wiping out all life on the planet. The humans were far weaker than the Ootsutsuki, but they outnumbered them greatly. In addition, they had, by this time, gained a degree of military might that even Kaguya had to take concern with. Still yet in his mind there were incongruencies. His mother surely was more than strong enough to destroy humanity; why wouldn’t she? Furthermore, and this question haunted him even more, what was his and his brothers role in all of this?

“You know what it is my child, you’ve read the inscriptions on the Tablet.”

“It says it is the destroyer of worlds,” Azulon said trembling. “Would you kill your own people as well mother? Only to continue on the obsession of a dead lunatic?”

He spoke of the late Emperor Abraxas when he spoke these words. He was fully aware of the obsession the sovereign had with the Aesir and the Vanir beings. These artifacts had been recovered by him from all over the universe in fact; and they were all pieces to a puzzle he believed to be the very meaning of life.

“The Eversoris is indeed a destroyer; but it is also a creator; the creator. You see, my son, life and death are two sides of the same coin. They are one in the same; inseparable. You have not yet put the pieces together as to your own part in this grand play.”

“I’ll never help you.” He said with a look of resolve.

“You already have…” Kaguya said softly.

And with that, Azulon disappeared through a portal with his Kamui, and the dream that Mithrandir and Azulon’s spirit witnessed, ended.

The next thing Mithrandir knew, he was back once again in the bonefield that was the back courtyard of the broken Uchiha city, and now only stood with him the single spirit of Azulon.

“You have many questions… I know… And there are answers. But now, duty calls you Quetsiqquaddol. There is a young Senju prince who is at the mercy of the prince of this world; you must save him.”

Mithrandir felt a burning sensation, and without warning there was a bright light that emanated from his chest. He fell to his knees in groping pain as he found himself utterly unable to heal or reject the sensation.
“What’s happening to me?” he said bitterly as the burning continued.

“Yiggradsil has been awakened; the Gedo Mazou has been summoned, and the prophecy must be fulfilled. Go!”

Mithrandir’s eyes began to let out a radiation that shown out as a bright light filling the entire courtyard until nothing but a white light could be seen on the mountain peak. It was all white for about thirty seconds as radiant energy appeared to grow and grow and grow and grow….

Suddenly, there was an enormous explosion heard, and it was the Aeserian Prince blasting off into the air towards the location of the summoned Gedo Mazou… His connection to the entity he knew not; but it had ties to him that went deeper than he knew, and he would not stop now that he had gotten his first taste of a truth hidden from him for as long as he could remember…

Who is he?
