Rules on Alternative Characters

Alternative Characters

In light of recent events, and the downswing in site activity, we are opening up the possibility of people having alternate characters. This also includes, taking over another character who may have left, or gone inactive. This does not include basically "turning" people into human puppets, or some sort of NPC's. While this is allowed, it will fall under a different set of rules to be listed in another post below.

What are alternate characters?
Alternative characters, or alts for short, are characters that you create that or play that are considered PC or player characters. They follow a certain set of rules, and allow people to experience more of the site

Lets jump into the rules here for these characters

  • At max, a person may have 3 alternative characters.
  • Your 3rd alternative character must start out as D rank
  • Alternative characters must start in different regions/be in different regions
  • We will operate on a conflict of interest basis, meaning your alts cannot help any of your characters in any way.
  • For now, you cannot take the same rank as your other characters. Meaning, if one character you have is S rank, your next character has to be A rank or lower.
  • If conflicts arise, and they might, villages go to war or something like that, then staff will intervene and give direction as to how to proceed.
  • You can never, ever benefit from your alternate characters, meaning you cannot set yourself up to harvest ryo, bodies etc via your alts.
  • If we catch people abusing this system, such as helping their friends get more powerful via sacrificial alts, we will strip 1 rank from each of the players, and remove 110 stats (3 Skill Points)

I want to take a second to talk about what recently has happened, which is people leaving, and "gifting" their characters to another. This is allowed, however those characters do not become an NPC, but rather an alternate character, following the alt rules. Which means, if they are in the same village, or same "team" then one must leave and not be apart of such conflict of interest. There is absolutely no "gifting" anything prior to this.

  • If a person leaves (see inactivity/quitting) and gifts the player, say ryo or maybe even they try and gift a legendary item/potent skill, this is automatically voided.
  • Any host style characters, or characters with legendary weapons (Such as Samehada or rare summons) are automatically lost when leaving/quitting going inactive
  • You are allowed to role play their character, so long as they are on a termed absence, which is to say, they are coming back, and everything you do is in their best interest.

What if I have these characters prior to this ruling?
Prior to this ruling, we have never allowed alternative characters, we allowed purchased NPC's via EXP. So before you try and ask for grandfathering or complain, they were never allowed to begin with. As such, effective immediate, they must follow these rules. If you treated them as NPC's, you may get a refund for things you yourself purchased for them, but things they purchased of their own account (via their own money) are not refunded. Any gifts/trading are voided, so if you 5 years ago, had their character gift you 10k ryo, you have to give it back. No exceptions

I do not think that is fair, anything I can do?
Yes, you have 1 week starting from today to purchase them as NPC's using our exp system. In the mean time, you may not use/benefit from them in any manner. If you cannot or are unable/willing to do so, you may continue to play them as an alternate character and follow the alt rules, or simply give them up, and staff will take them over.

What about what they had? Can I keep that?
The short answer, no. If they had a legendary weapon, a cool skill set, maybe you harvested them for organs, all of it is now voided. Any bijuu they had are gone, any things like mysterious peacock is removed, and any limited is kept in limbo until you purchase them as an NPC

This is crap, they gave me that character
And you are to play it, like an alternative character, not as your little gift me shit monkey

Okay, so I had them sealed in a scroll, or locked up, or I used this fancy jutsu, what now?
Show me, and we can discuss. If it is you just "now" doing it, no, sorry does not count. If this is something you try and slip in, via the time skip, nope again. If you can show me where they willingly went into a seal without fighting you for w/e reason, I'll take a look. But if this is some sort of on the spot call, we will void it.

What is an NPC vs a Alt?
An NPC is purchased via the EXP system, and follows a certain set of rules, some of which will be listed below. NPC's cannot have limited jutsu (if they do, they come from your own pool, which is a max of 4) and they are basically a cross between a summon and a PC.

Any questions, please contact Kadoria.

Inactivity

Well, this is something we hoped to not talk about. Inactivity, and its effect on the site. It happens, we will do what we can to stop it, but short of putting a gun to people's head, there is not a whole lot we can control. So, we are going to take a brief moment and discuss inactivity, the definition and its impact.

Inactivity: Is defined as anyone who does not post ICly for 1 week period, or does not post period for 2 weeks ICly. This are important distinctions to be discussed later.

1 Week Rule Anyone who does not post ICly for one week is deemed inactive in terms of world events. Such as, trying to 48 hour hit them, invasions, trying to nab/rob them. Stealing their bijuu or something like that. Basically, if someone has not posted ICly in one week, they are removed from the "board" so to speak, off limits until they are active again.

2 Week Rule Anyone who does not post ICly at all, for 2 weeks is inactive in terms of the site. While we may not do this every two weeks, this is our base line. Please do not complain if last month we did not do it, but this month we did it, regardless if they cop catches you when you speed or not, you were still speeding (Get the hint). When a person has been inactive for two weeks, they can lose their bijuu, special weapons/items (legendary) and limited jutsu (no refunds) Edo Tensai, human puppets and NPCs. However, this is at staff voting to decide these things.

Absences

An absence is a period of time you will be leaving, they have a set time period. Anything over 3 weeks is considered a leave of absence, and that person will lose their "spot", any bijuu or legendary items/weapons they may have. You may allow someone else to play your character, but you are responsible for the outcome. Be warned

Quitting

Quitting, well it happens. You disagree with a ruling, or a message or outcome and leave. Sometimes this happens quietly (you stop showing up) other-times you decide to make a show of it. Either way, quitting is an automatic forfeit of your character. Period.

Some people may want to be clever, and say, go on a rampage to destroy the site, I say go for it. But we will void it the second you disappear, so make sure you follow through until the very end, otherwise it will be a waste of everyone's time (The Inactivity Rules). Other-times you may think to be super secret, hide yourself and away and take a super secret item or w/e, go for it. Once the inactivity rules kick in, it will be lost anyway, so why not? Finally, some of you may open yourself up to science, here take my eyes, my EMS, my soul, my ka. I say go for it, rp it out, I'd love to read it. But just know, that if you do not survive, we will still use the inactivity rules on you. That means you have to rp for at least 2 weeks afterwards in order for the "gift" to be counted, otherwise, its voided the second you leave. Why do I say this, well I want to make sure you put in at least enough effort to make your leaving a logical situation.
